PLATT TERRACE
Southampton, New York

When the owners purchased this newly built home in Southampton Village, much of the house was already complete. Our role was to transform a largely finished space into a home that felt distinctly their own—sophisticated enough for entertaining, but warm and comfortable enough for everyday family life.
Working from the existing architecture as a blank canvas, we introduced warmth and character through layers of natural materials and thoughtful architectural detail. Textured wallcoverings bring depth to the dining room and formal living room, while custom paneling adds architectural interest to the family room and powder room. Throughout the house, we paired these elements with a relaxed, beach-inspired palette, mixing new furnishings with found and collected pieces and lighting that complements the character of each room.
We also believe that some of the most transformative changes to a newly built home can happen in the details. Upgraded lighting and hardware, thoughtfully placed millwork, and elevated finishes can completely change the feeling of a space without requiring a major architectural intervention. Here, those details helped give the house the character and depth it was missing.
The powder room became a particularly expressive example of this approach. With elevated tile, distinctive plumbing fixtures, custom wall paneling, and carefully considered lighting, an otherwise ordinary room was transformed into one of the most memorable spaces in the house.
The result is a home that feels layered, personal, and collected—proof that even a largely completed house can be thoughtfully reimagined to reflect the people who live there.
