Just a short walk from the ocean and overlooking a beautiful preserve, this new Southampton home was designed as a grander take on the classic Hamptons house. From the beginning, the client had a clear appreciation for classical architecture and wanted the proportions and details of the house to be thoughtfully and accurately executed.

We knew it was going to be a great collaboration from our very first meeting, when the client arrived carrying her well-loved copy of Get Your House Right by Marianne Cusato, a fellow Notre Dame School of Architecture graduate. It is a book we rely on often enough that we have copies for our project architects and some of our preferred builders.

The exterior is intentionally formal, with carefully considered classical details, while the interior proportions make the house feel comfortable and wonderfully suited to family life. The result is a home that balances a more substantial architectural presence with the relaxed, welcoming character we love in a Hamptons house.
